Boys varsity basketball

The boys basketball team finished their season with a win over Rockport on Thursday. The final score was 54 to 50.  With the win the Hornets  finished the season with a 14 and 6 record earning them first place in the Cape Ann Small Baker Division. 
The Hornets are now prepare for the Division 4 state tournament.

We had another amazing performance last night. Four more school records were improved upon. Three individuals and one relay qualified for the state meet next Saturday. The boys finished 6th over all with 24 points and scored in four events which was a team best in all categories. The girls scored 15 points good for 12th place and scored in three events. We also had 10 PRs on top of the record setters. Congratulations to everyone who ran last night. The meet started in a positive direction as Dasa Hase finished 7th in the 55 (7.59). From there we got rolling. Wil Kenney was second in the mile besting his school record (4:27.04). Eve Feuerbach finished fourth in the mile (5:27.05). Then Mia Cromwell ran a superb race in the 1000 setting a school record and finishing second (3:03.97). Dean Campbell  got in on the fun by bettering his school record in the 300 while finishing second (36.34). Girls varsity basketball update

The Manchester Essex Hornets finished the regular season at 11-9, qualifying for the Division 3 state tournament. On Friday night the Hornets hosted Cape Ann League Small Champions Amesbury and battled back from behind in the fourth quarter. Though the Hornets put up a great fight, they lost the game 39-41. The Hornet offense was led by Suzy Morton with 13 points. Emma Cochand added 7 and Bridget Twombly 6. Grace Brennan and Emily Jacobsen each added 4, Bella Pomeroy 3 and Lily Athanas 2 in the effort.On Thursday night the Hornets hosted Rockport for their final regular season game and senior night to celebrate the dedication and accomplishments of Bella Pomeroy, Grace Brennan, Emma Cochand, Ava Glass and Suzy Morton. The Hornets won a decisive victory over the Vikings 61-20. Suzy Morton led again with 13 followed by Bella Pomeroy with 11.
